We’re into the 3rd round of the EFL Cup and that means Premier League sides are now able to clash. Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Tottenham have all been handed favourable draws but the same cannot be said for some of their biggest rivals. Leicester host Chelsea in the most anticipated match while league leaders Man City are faced with a tricky trip to Swansea.

Derby v Liverpool – (Wed 4:45am)Derby have had far from an ideal start to their Championship campaign and they now host a Reds side that is full of confidence following big wins over Leicester and Chelsea. Klopp has built a very handy side for the Anfield faithful – one which now has a considerable amount of depth. We should see that depth on full display in this one with Stewart, Origi and Firmino sure to get the start. Liverpool’s pressing style will cause Derby a heap of problems and The Wolf has no doubt about the result in this one. Liverpool are in for a big win.

Leicester v Chelsea – (Wed 4:45am) (Live Streaming Available)The alarm bells were ringing following Leicester’s 4-1 loss to Liverpool but they have bounced back in a big was with 3-0 wins over Club Brugge (UCL) and Burnley. With a huge week ahead that includes Man Utd on the weekend and Porto in the Champions League Ranieri will no doubt leave Vardy, Mahrez, Morgan and Drinkwater on the sidelines as he did in the previous round against Hull. The Foxes do not have the depth to match even a second string Chelsea and the reality is that Leicester cannot afford to play their stars in this one.

Swansea v Man City – (Thur 4:45am) (Live Streaming Available)Man City have hit top gear earlier than expected under Pep Guardiola. They have won 8 in a row across all competitions and are averaging more than 3 goals per game in that stretch. In what is a unusual twist the sides will play twice in the space of just 3 days with a meeting in the EPL to follow. Swansea were second rate in their loss to Southampton and a similar performance against City could end very ugly. Ihenacho will lead the attack with Aguero and Nolito suspended while Navas, Sane and Garcia should also see plenty of time. Ihenacho to open the scoring is huge value!

Northampton v Man Utd – (Thur 4:45am) (Live Streaming Available)United started the season on fire but the last week has been one to forget with Jose Mourinho finding himself in a deep hole. A loss at home to cross town rivals Man City was followed by a Champions League defeat in Feyenoord and if that wasn’t enough they were shown up by Watford at the weekend. Have the wheels fallen off already… Mourinho said that he didn’t want to change a winning formula early in the season and said there would be plenty of opportunities for others to showcase their talents. This is one of them so expect names like Mkhitaryan, Mata, Depay, Young and Herrera to really impress in this one. This is their chance to shine and earn themselves a start against Leicester this weekend.
